There is another disease that isn’t so rare. In fact, we all have it. We are all infected by it — sin. Sin kills every single one of us. It makes us so sick that we cannot live with our own blood. We have to have someone else’s blood flowing through us just so that we can live.
I John 1:7 says, “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.” Jesus was compelled by His love for us to die so that one day we can have eternal life in Heaven.
So what does it mean to walk in the light as He is in the light? What does it mean to walk with God? Verse 24 of Genesis 5 says, “Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.” This world is big, crazy, corrupt, and selfish. But it is also temporary and spiritual. This world is spiritual because there are Christians here striving to live for Him each day. This world is spiritual because there are people here walking with God. For those walking with God, this world is temporary, and this is the closest those people will ever be to Hell.
If we as Christians are truly walking with God, then our purpose will solely be to please Him, do what He says, and bring others to Him. Living for Jesus has got to be our true PASSION. You can’t just be a fan of Jesus. To walk with Him, you have to be a follower. When you are following someone, you are walking with them. If you are just a fan, you are just cheering them on from the stands. Jesus has already won the victory. He is just walking with us through this life to get us to Heaven with Him.
In football, the fans don’t get a prize. The team playing gets the prize. The ones putting the effort in are the ones who receive the real reward. This is exactly the same way that our spiritual game is. You can do all of the cheering and be the most hard-core fan ever, but until you get out there, walk with Jesus, and DO something… you will not get a prize at the end of this life.
However, for those not walking with God, this is the closest they will ever be to Heaven. For those who have not been baptized into the blood of Christ, into His Church, they are not walking with Christ.
In Acts 2 when Peter preaches the first Gospel sermon to the Jews who had just killed Jesus. He tells them this, and they want to know what they need to do to be saved. In verse 38, Peter responds and says, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” In Mark 16:16, Jesus is giving the apostles the Great Commission. He says, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Baptism is ESSENTIAL for salvation.
Romans 6:4 says, “We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in the newness of of life.” We are buried with Jesus in baptism, and we rise with Jesus after we are baptized to walk with Him every day of our lives.
Baptism is essential for salvation, but living faithfully for the rest of your life is also essential for salvation. Revelation 2:10 says that Satan is going to throw you curveballs, but if you will just be faithful unto death, He will give you a crown of life. Just be faithful.
We, as Christians, have the responsibility to tell everybody about Him and His love that compelled Him to go to Calvary and die for us. We should be compelled to go and tell others about His love because of His love and everything He has blessed us with. We have got to stop looking at other’s outward appearances and deciding if we are going to tell them about Jesus. We’ve got to stop looking at others from a worldly point of view. We've got to see souls instead of human flesh. God sees souls. And on Judgement day, that is all He is going to see. He is going to look at our soul.
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that One died for all, and therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again. So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.
2 Corinthians 15:14-16
What if we do nothing? What if we go everyday knowing about all of the things God has blessed us with, and don’t tell anybody, even those closest to us? Is it nothing to you that there are people dying in our communities, schools, families, friends groups, and country without Jesus?
We have a responsibility to go and tell others about Him! You don’t even have to get on an airplane and fly to another country. All you have to do is put on your shoes and walk down the street. There are people dying without anyone mentioning to them who Jesus is. True love is is not kindness to the point of ignoring sin. True love is being real with people because God is real. And judgment day is going to happen.
Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For He says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you. behold now is the day of salvation.
- 2 Corinthians 16:1-2
Now. Now is the time to tell somebody about Jesus. We are only guaranteed today. Choose TODAY whom you will serve. You have been gifted by God in some way. You have a talent. Go and use your talent to share His World, to bring others to Him.
If you are reading this and have not put Christ on in baptism or are just curious and way to know more about Christ and His Church, I want to tell you about Him! I want to tell you about how God has blessed me in more ways than I can imagine. NOW is the day of Salvation.
Thank you, God for your grace, mercy, and love. Thank you. Thank you for Jesus and for Him being separated from you to give up His life and shed His blood. So that we could have clean, pure blood flowing through our bodies so that we don’t have to die because of sin. Thank you.
And I'm bringing souls to Jesus by the service that I give.
